How to Watch the Premier League Live in 2026/27

Part of our Sport, TV Guide & Picture Quality series. Follow the sporting year, use the programme guide and catch-up, and get the best picture on Aero IPTV.
The Premier League is the most-watched football league in the world, followed from Lagos to Los Angeles. It is also one of the more complicated leagues to watch: matches are spread across several kick-off slots every weekend, rights are split between broadcasters in many countries, and in the UK some matches are not shown live at all. If you want to watch the Premier League live in 2026/27, this guide explains how it all fits together.
We cover the season calendar, the weekly kick-off slots, the UK's Saturday 3pm blackout, the official broadcasters in the main markets and how to set up your Aero IPTV screens for a full weekend of football. It is part of our sports series; the guide to watching sport on Aero IPTV covers the whole sporting year.
The 2026/27 Premier League season at a glance
- 20 clubs, 38 matches each, 380 matches in total.
- Mid-August 2026 to late May 2027, with every club playing on the final day at the same time.
- A winter schedule that packs extra rounds around Christmas and New Year, including midweek fixtures.
- Breaks for international fixtures in September, October, November and March, when no Premier League matches are played.
The fixture list is published in June, and exact kick-off times are confirmed a few weeks ahead as broadcasters choose their matches. That is why a match listed for Saturday can move to Sunday or Monday.

The UK 3pm blackout explained
In the UK, matches kicking off at 15:00 on Saturday are not broadcast live by any official UK broadcaster. The rule dates back decades and is intended to protect attendance at matches across the football pyramid. Highlights are shown later that evening, but the matches themselves are not on UK television live.
Outside the UK, those same 15:00 matches are usually broadcast live by the official rights holders in each country. Please respect the rules that apply where you live; this guide does not cover ways around regional broadcasting restrictions.
Official Premier League broadcasters
At the time of writing, the main official options in two of the biggest markets are:
| Region | Official broadcaster(s) | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| United Kingdom | Sky Sports and TNT Sports | Sky shows the large majority of live matches; TNT Sports shows the rest. BBC shows highlights. |
| United States | NBC, USA Network and Peacock | Many matches are streamed on Peacock |
| Elsewhere | Varies by country | The Premier League lists official broadcasters by country on its website |
If you want to be certain of seeing every match your club plays, the official broadcaster in your country is the dependable choice. Aero IPTV channel line-ups change over time, and our terms make clear we cannot guarantee any particular channel or competition, so check your own line-up rather than relying on it for a specific team.
A Premier League weekend on Aero IPTV
A full weekend can mean five or six matches you want to see, from a Saturday lunchtime start to a Monday night game. A little preparation makes it easy:
- Make a football favourites group with the channels you use for league matches, separate from news and entertainment.
- Check the guide on Friday for the weekend's confirmed kick-off times in your time zone. Our EPG and catch-up guide explains how to set it to local time.
- Wire the main TV to the router, or use 5 GHz Wi-Fi, especially for the late Saturday and Sunday kick-offs when networks are busiest.
- Keep an HD fallback of your main channel in favourites in case the connection is busy.
- Set reminders for the matches you do not want to miss.
Clashing matches and multiple screens
Sunday afternoons often have two attractive matches back to back, and the final day puts all ten on at once. If two people in your home support different clubs, a plan with two connections lets each watch their own match on a different screen. Our Aero IPTV connections guide explains the cost of an extra screen and the bandwidth each stream needs.
Getting the best picture for football
- Smooth motion matters more than resolution. A steady FHD stream looks better than 4K that stutters during a counter-attack.
- Match the frame rate. European football is broadcast at 50 frames per second; on Firestick, turn on Match Original Frame Rate to avoid judder.
- Go easy on motion smoothing in your TV's settings; heavy interpolation creates artefacts around the ball.
- Use 4K for the big match on the big screen only if your connection holds it steady at that time of day.
The Aero IPTV 4K and quality guide explains how to choose between SD, HD, FHD and 4K for your speed and screen.
Catch-up, highlights and the morning after
For viewers in the Americas, early UK kick-offs fall at breakfast time or before dawn. Catch-up on supported channels lets you watch from the start when you wake up; turn off score notifications first. Official broadcasters and the league publish highlights soon after each match, which is the fastest way to follow a round you could not watch live.
If something goes wrong on match day
| Problem | Likely cause | Quick fix |
|---|---|---|
| Buffering at the 17:30 kick-off | Peak-time Wi-Fi or provider congestion | Switch to HD; use a cable |
| Match time in the guide is wrong | Guide time zone, or the match was moved | Set the time zone; check the official fixture list |
| 'Maximum connections reached' | Another screen still playing | Close the other player fully |
| Black screen with sound | Decoder setting | Switch hardware/software decoding |
Our Aero IPTV troubleshooting guide walks through each of these in more detail.
Season milestones worth planning for
- Opening weekend in August: a full round, often with a Friday night opener. A good moment to check your setup and favourites.
- The festive period: Boxing Day and the days around New Year pack in several rounds in quick succession, including midweek matches. Expect a busy guide and plan screens for family visits.
- The run-in from March to May: title races, European places and relegation battles, with kick-off times often moved for broadcast.
- Final day in late May: all ten matches at the same time. The most demanding afternoon of the season for multiple screens.
How the table decides the season
The 20 clubs play each other home and away, earning three points for a win and one for a draw. The top clubs qualify for European competition the following season, usually with the top four going into the Champions League and occasionally a fifth place when English clubs have performed well in Europe. The bottom three are relegated to the Championship. On the final day, results elsewhere can change everything, which is why many fans keep a second match on another screen.
If you watch from abroad, plan your Aero IPTV plan length around the season: a 12-month plan covers a full season and the summer tournaments, while a 6-month plan can cover the second half of the season from the festive period to the final day.
